"Nan, listen! There's always a solution. You should never give up." Who? Who is talking to me? "LaLaLa..." Sound of songs, I wake up. A dream? No. Someone is singing very loudly outside our camp.

"What's the matter?" Sue and Mai also waken by the songs. "This noise is loud enough to wake the dead! Which idiot is singing?" Mai says angrily. "Let's go out and have a look," Sue suggests.

We go out and find Roy and Ken are coming out from the other camp. "Hey, why do you sing so loudly?" Mai says with discontent. "It's not us who are singing! You look, we aren't singing but there is still the loud sound!" Roy says. Everything seems unusual. I look at my digital watch. It shows "25:00"! It"s too strange!

"Wait! Where's Von?" Sue counts the number of people and says. "We must find him!" Ken says and runs into the forest in front of us. Yes, our camp site is in the forest. We follow. Red light? I look at the sky and see a red moon is hanging high in it! "Sue, Mai, Roy, Ken, look! The moon..." Where are they? They have all disappeared!
The songs haven't stopped. What can I do? I am alone in the dark. I don't know how to go back. The red moonlight seems to be directing me. I follow the red route and come to a small grassland which is surrounded by 4 tall trees.

"Von?" I find Von. He is flying, no, in fact, he is "floating" in the sky with his bat-like wings. "You're the last one, Nan." He says with a devil's smile. "Is it you who has been singing?" "Of course not." I find I am in the center of the songs, the trees are singing! "They're singing the song of 'cleaning'. It is only an opening, all human beings should DIE!"

A tree grows up from the land I am standing on and pushes me into the sky. The 4 trees! Sue, Mai, Roy and Ken are on those trees surrounding the grassland. I look carefully and see blood running down the stems. I can feel blood is running away from my body. Everything turns dark. It is all over for us now.

"You should not give up! Remember, whenever there is life, there is hope!" Von's voice. Why? I don't understand. Isn't it you who is killing us? "Do you believe that everyone has his soul? My body is not controlled by my soul now." "How can I help you? What should I do?" "You should believe, believe that the dark will go away when light comes..." His voice disappeared.

I open my eyes . They have also woken up. We nod our heads with confidence. We are not afraid. A bright light breaks the darkness. The sun rises. The trees stop singing and Von falls down. The trees holding us go into the earth again.

We run to Von. The wings on his back have disappeared. But, he doesn't breathe! His soul can't go back into his body any more. Why did the trees do that? Why? "Why do you do that, then?" The trees say, "You're so cruel. You hurt us so much." Right, we should think more about the Earth and other living things, not only ourselves. But, aren't you doing the same thing? Can't we live together peacefully? Tears fall on Von's face. His hand moves.
The sun is shining. Do you believe? There are miracles.
